Bachelorette Week: How To Throw A Retro Themed Pool Party

When planning Beth’s bachelorette party in the Hamptons, we decided to rent a house so all of the girls could stay together and enjoy the little luxuries of feeling like you are home. I found an amazing home in East Hampton that accommodated all the girls and had a pool that we couldn’t wait to use. One of our favorite themes of the moment is retro glam, so I decided one day had to be dedicated to a retro themed pool party. I asked all the girls to pack their favorite retro swimsuits and went to work finding party accessories to help make this the best pool party to date.

Flamingos have been everywhere lately, so they became the foundation for the party. Yard signs, coasters, stirrers and the infamous “flabongo” were all must-have party supplies. I also adore this humongous swan raft and packed it in my suitcase, in addition to some other vintage rafts and beach balls. It wouldn’t be a party without fun props for the girls to use, like petal swim caps and head scarfs, as well as mirrored white wayfarers and personalized cups for everyone.
On the morning of the pool party, I decorated the dining room table with adorable Toot Sweet paper products and laid out a retro card, personalized cup, sunglasses and drink stirrer for each girl. It didn’t take long for everyone to throw on their suits and meet at the pool for some delicious Watermelon Mojitos served up by our fave in-house girlfriend turned bartender. Some spins on the swan raft and sips from the flabongo made for lots of laughs with the bride-to-be!
