The final match of the International Polo Club Palm Beach‘s winter season concluded on Sunday, April 21st with Zacara defending its 2012 U.S. Open crown with a 16-13 victory over Valiente.
A sold-out crowd of polo fans were enthusiastically cheering while Valiente and Zacara fought hard for the title, and Facundo Pieres scored an incredible 12 goals clinching the MVP title. Celebrity sightings included Lee Greenwood singing “God Bless the U.S.A.,” Cheryl Moana Marie belting the National Anthem and Antonio Sabato Jr. performing the ceremonial coin toss.
Other highlights included red, white and blue Maseratis circling the field, U.S. Navy Color Guards marching in step and American flags waving throughout the stadium. It was an inspiring day for polo and a fitting conclusion for the club’s 10th Anniversary Season.

Make plans now for IPC’s 2014 polo season from Sunday, January 5th to Sunday, April 20th!
