Palm Beach Entertaining: Creating Occasions To Remember

Palm Beach hosts must pick up a copy of the new book Palm Beach Entertaining by Annie Falk. This memorable book provides a sneak peek into the lives and entertaining styles of some of the world’s most accomplished society hosts. It is bursting with signature events, special recipes, entertaining tips and inspiring decor that represent each host’s unique party and style.
Palm Beach Lately’s own Beth Beattie is honored to have styled two of the tablescapes: Dinner in the Country with Karin and Joe Luter and Coastal Cool with Tracy and Matt Smith.

Dinner in the Country was a subtle yet elegant outdoor party that used uplighting to illuminate the textural bark of the oak tree, while oversized silver lanterns filled with pillar candles flickered above a teak table set with zebra-print runners, silver sculptures of game fowl and reflective square vases that held an assortment of white bulb flowers.

Coastal Cool was all about layering.  A floor-length Ikat tablecloth was topped with a coarse linen runner, on which corals, sea fans and barnacles were placed in a palette of neutral tones with pops of lavender.  Hammered metal chargers sat beneath graphic Jacques Bernardaud plates and gold-rimmed, crystal wine goblets and simple water tumblers added the perfect mixed and matched effect.
Proceeds from the book will assist Children’s Home Society of Florida and its efforts to provide disadvantaged children and families with the tools they need to succeed.
